Sonoma jar candles have grown from a small test assortment in Spring 2012 to a 21 million dollar business by Spring 2016. Home fragrance is still a fairly new business for Kohl’s but has proven to be a huge success with our customer.
The Sonoma candle assortment changes every season (Spring, Summer, Fall, Holiday) with brand new labels designs. And within each season there are between two and five collections with unique label designs. Thus giving our customer plenty of new and exciting choices to celebrate the season.
Every season I art direct and design each unique label. I try to create newness not only in design, but in printing techniques and material. Using a mix of photography, illustration, and typography I consider each season carefully. I work closely with skilled illustrators, designers, and photo art directors to bring my ideas to life.
